Jo and I met through networking so when I was thinking about hiring someone to open up a new office for Mearns & Gill, Concept Onyx Recruitment seemed the obvious choice. I approached Jo and we arranged a meeting to discuss the brief. It was during the brief where it clicked that I’d made the right choice of supplier. We agreed that a retained assignment was the way forwards as this would enable Jo to give focused time and effort to our recruitment project. The service received felt very personal rather than being thrown a pile of CVs. Jo took the extra time to really understand the brief and get under the skin of our business. She interviews people up front so we only get the best of the best. There’s more focus on quality and the whole thing feels a lot less process driven. When you’re doing a retained assignment there has to be a bit more trust as you’re paying an engagement fee, however Jo communicated the whole way through and it all happened so quickly. We now have a great new person in role who has hit the ground running and we’re really happy with how it’s going. I’m delighted with the results.
